Finally the Samsung Galaxy S III is released and is now available for the world to go crazy for smart phones once again.
In this article we share comparison between the 3 mighty contenders of this category:-
Samsung Galaxy S III
Apple’s iPhone 4S
HTC’s One X
The S3 doesn’t sport a very flexible screen but the design is really attractive. The screen is huge. Its shape is somewhat similar to the Galaxy Nexus having a really superb looking curvy back. In spite of the rumors it still sports the physical home button. All in all a nice attractive looking piece for customers this summer
Now let’s talk about the iphone 4S. Tech Geeks are a bit disappointed by looking at the same piece after iphone 4. 4S is replica of the iphone 4. But still it’s a nice looking phone. With the thickness of 9mm the phone is a bit chubby. If apple don’t change the look soon then they might have to face the wrath of the worshippers.
HTC One X is a beast in terms of size just like the S3. Both of them give a huge screen. But the One X fills a bit slippery and HTC classics phones style so nothing much to speak about except the smart looks of HTC.
Winner: Though a tough fight for the first place the Winner is Samsung Galaxy S3 it just takes over the HTC One X due to the curve body and stylish looks. While the iphone 4S don’t even seems closer
In terms of screen size the S3 is fitted with a 4.8-inch massive Super AMOLED screen. The S3 surely steps up from its predecessor Galaxy Note in terms of the screen Size(4.8 instead of 4.3) and the technology(Super AMOLED instead of AMOLED plus).
Once again iphone 4S is the same as the s which is ok as the retina display is really great. The only con is that the screen size is only 3.5 inches which don’t satisfy a HD video requirements.
The One X comes with a screen a bit smaller than 4.7 inches. Though the screen looks good and handles the colors brilliantly but the downside comes at the viewing angles as it might be a bit of headache for users.
Winner: The Galaxy S3 is the winner with a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED screen. The HTC One X’s screen is also great, but production issues make it loose the chance for being the number one.
Galaxy S3 comes with a quad-core Exynos chip running at 1.4GHz, backed up by 1GB of RAM. Expectations were high from the S3 as everyone was hoping a much powerful processor from S3 alongwith first time 2gb RAM in the Smartphone. But we might have to wait till the launch of S4 we guess.
The iPhone 4S comes with only a dual-core 1G chip with a mere 512MB RAM but still manages to produce much better results from the predecessor. It munches through most of app nice and smooth but lags a bit when the high end video intensive app comes to scene.
The HTC One X is the big gun with a quad-core chip clocked at impressive 1.5GHz. Of course, you’ll probably never notice the difference between 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz, but it’s nice to see the bigger number. The One X also sports 1GB RAM.
Winner: Here HTC One X takes the prize by having the larger number. But still there is not much of difference in two of them
The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 8 megapixels similar to the S2. We hoped to see 12M camera. Still the camera has some good functionality giving it a bit chance in the competition.
Iphone also has a 8MP camera but with its HDR feature and built-in editing tools, the iPhone 4S is a firm favourite among mobile shutterbugs.
The HTC One X also uses an 8-megapixel sensor, but it offers a wide f2.0 aperture and a backside-illuminated sensor to improve picture quality in low light. In terms of straight image quality, we preferred the shots taken from the iPhone 4S, but the One X offers various tweaking tools that might appeal to the casual snapper.
Winner: iPhone 4S. The rich, even tone provided by the 4S puts it slightly ahead of the One X.
The S3 sports the latest outing of Samsung’s TouchWiz software, which is a custom skin it has applied over the standard Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In brief it is nice to feel but not so simple to use.
It does, however, have a few extras. S Voice is the name given to the voice-assistant software that aims to serve a similar function to the iPhone 4S’s Siri.Direct Call lets you instantly call the contact on your screen just by putting the phone to your face. Finally, Smart Stay is the eye-tracking function we reported that doesn’t let the screen lock while you’re still looking at it.
As an Apple device, the iPhone 4S comes with the iOS 5, which is known for being particularly user-friendly and straightforward. It’s exactly this simple functionality that’s allowed the iPhone to become so popular among people who aren’t hardcore tech addicts. However it’s not simple who always wins.
The HTC One X’s Sense 4.0 interface aims to make Android more accessible by being easy to understand and simple to operate. In our time with the device, we found that it had done a good job at achieving those targets.
Winner: This final round is a draw for now.
With a huge 4.8 inch screen, curvy back and a lot of other features we declare the Samsung Galaxy S3 the winner by a little margin over the HTC One X.
